Range Practice Plan

Stop wasting balls with random range sessions. This structured 100-ball plan turns practice into real improvement. Each drill has a purpose—execute them in order for maximum benefit.

Warm-Up Sequence
15 BALLS
Start smooth and build rhythm. Don't go straight to driver.
  • 5 balls with wedge (50% swing)
  • 5 balls with 7-iron (70% swing)
  • 5 balls with hybrid/wood (building to full swing)
Wedge Distance Control
25 BALLS
Pick 3 distances (50, 75, 100 yards). Hit each distance until you nail it consistently.
  • 50 yards: 8 balls (focus on rhythm, not power)
  • 75 yards: 8 balls (controlled three-quarter swing)
  • 100 yards: 9 balls (your scoring zone distance)
Iron Precision Work
25 BALLS
Work on ball-striking quality and accuracy. Pick specific targets.
  • 7-iron: 10 balls (your reference club)
  • 5-iron: 8 balls (harder to hit clean)
  • 9-iron: 7 balls (finish with confidence)
Driver Power & Control
20 BALLS
You're warmed up now—time to unleash. But stay smart.
  • First 5 balls: Focus on center contact (80% power)
  • Next 10 balls: Full swings with specific targets
  • Last 5 balls: Simulate on-course pressure (pick fairway targets)
Pressure Simulation
15 BALLS
The money drill. Simulate real course situations.
  • 5 approach shots: "You need to hit the green to make par"
  • 5 tee shots: "Fairway or bust"
  • 5 finishing shots: Full pre-shot routine, commit to target

Equipment Care Guide

Protect your investment. Quality clubs deserve quality care. These simple habits keep your gear performing like new and preserve resale value.

🧼 Clean Clubs After Every Round
Wipe down grips and clubfaces. Remove dirt from grooves with a tee or brush. Dried mud = reduced spin and control. Takes 3 minutes, saves thousands in performance.
🤲 Regrip Every 40 Rounds (or Yearly)
Worn grips = lost distance and accuracy. If they're shiny or slick, they're done. Fresh grips instantly improve your game. Most golfers wait 2-3 years too long.
🏠 Store Clubs Properly
Never leave clubs in hot cars (warps shafts, damages grips). Store vertically in a climate-controlled space. A proper locker protects against humidity, dust, and damage while displaying your gear with pride.
🔍 Inspect for Damage Monthly
Check for loose clubheads, shaft cracks, or worn ferrules. Small issues become big problems. Catching damage early saves money and prevents mid-round disasters.
💧 Protect Against Moisture
Dry your clubs and bag after wet rounds. Moisture causes rust on clubheads and mildew in bags. Remove headcovers to air out woods. Use silica packs in storage areas.
🎒 Organize Your Bag Smart
Clubs by length (driver at back). Keep 14-slot dividers to prevent shaft damage. Store balls and tees in separate pockets. A organized bag = faster club selection and less wear.

Pre-Round Routine

Showing up 5 minutes before your tee time? You've already lost strokes. Champions prepare. This 15-minute routine gets your body ready and mind sharp.

Arrive 45 minutes early — Rushing creates tension. Give yourself time.
Check your bag — Tees, balls, glove, rangefinder, water. Missing one thing ruins your round.
Dynamic stretching (5 min) — Shoulders, hips, torso rotation. Not static stretches—move actively.
Putting green (10 min) — Start with 3-footers to build confidence. Then lag putts to feel green speed. Finish with pressure putts.
Chip 10 balls — Get a feel for how the ball reacts around the greens today.
Hit 15-20 balls — Wedge, 7-iron, hybrid, driver. Don't beat balls. Find your swing for today.
Set your intention — What's the goal today? Commit to your game plan. Trust your swing. Stay present.
Take 3 deep breaths — Clear your mind. You're ready. Go play great golf.
